Rated 1 out of 5 by from Vegan? No thanks. I bought a sharing bag of Fruit Pastilles recently and somehow they just didn’t seem the same, there was something about the texture and taste - genuinely thought I had a bad batch and then discovered on the packet that they are Vegan? My favourite sweet ruined purely to appease a tiny proportion of the population and to appear “woke” and politically correct? To put it in to context: Veganism in the UK: the number of vegans in Great Britain in 2019 there were only 600,000 vegans, out of 66,000,000 or 1.16% of the population. Why pander to 1% of your consumers who previously wouldn’t have even eaten the product anyway? In fact only 11% of the U.K. are vegetarian, leaving almost 59 million people wondering why you ruined a nation’s favourite sweet for a small minority? Why are you not keeping the original? Ridiculous business decision pandering to 1% of the population? Are you mad? Just because the 1% of the population represent a huge percentage of your reviews here does not reflect what consumers really think. If Vegans don’t like them, they shouldn’t buy them - there are plenty of vegan and vegetarian choices out there specifically for them, that most of us won’t touch. Much like I won’t buy products like meat-free sausages. Why? Because they taste awful....just like your fruit pastilles do now. 2020 was already bad....and then you did this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A decision based on sales rather than taste Not as nice as before they went vegan. Too chewy now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Vegan fruit pastilles I understand the demand for vegan products these days but my favourite pastilles have been spoiled by this change. Taste has changed and sticky texture is horrible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like them ! Vegan or not, I am so pleased that you have got rid of that most unpleasant of ingredients Gelatin. Found the taste and texture quite acceptable and certainly not as dreadful as first anticipated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New recipe What have you done? The new vegan recipe has ruined one of my favourite sweets. They don't taste the same and the soft interior makes it like every other fruit jelly sweet. Congratulations, you just lost a customer!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New recipe is terrible The new recipe is really bad. The sweets don’t taste the same, there is an awful after taste and after a few my tongue and inside of my mouth felt numb the way salt and vinegar discos used to, but not in a nice way. Also quite sickly. I managed to find an original recipe packet in a local shop today and what a difference! I wish these would be brought back

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yum Never able to enjoy these as a vegetarian and now vegan, managed to get some today and am so happy we’re included! They are a real treat and taste really fruity and chewy.
